I remember crying so much at that moment and how everyone came and instinctively scolded my mother in law, having assumed the worst.

The story of Mr. Rakesh and his wife, Mrs. Anju.

Mr. Rakesh is Christian and Mrs. Anju is Hindu. Here is what they shared about their experience.

Q: How did you two meet?

Anju: my cousin is married to Rakesh’s older brother. During their marriage is the first time we saw each other. After a couple years, a mediator brought a proposal to me from Rakesh’s house.

Q: So this is an arranged marriage?

Anju: Yes, my father is the only one who accepted the marriage. Nobody else.

Q: Make it clear to me. How is this even possible?

Anju: My cousin ran away with Rakesh’s brother. My cousin walked away and came to Rakesh’s home without being married. Then they got married in Christian tradition in Rakesh’s home village.
